Does the Rain Fall?

Thoughts and Teardrops Scattered to the Wind

20 November

I'm not quite what I seem, to be brief about it. When you look at me, I always seem happy and care-free. But you'll probably notice after reading my journal that I'm actually depressed half the time and since I have some incapability of showing it in person, I either cry it out or write it out. I think it's because of my need to make sure others are happy before myself--no one is happy when the people around them are sad....

And on the more superficial side of me--I'm a second-year graduate student at UNC Chapel Hill, getting an MS in computer science. I went to Tufts University for undergrad and majored in computer science with a minor in multimedia. Although far away now, I'm originally from Oregon. My heart still lies in Oregon with the rain and I fully intend to return home to the west coast after I'm done with school.

And now I leave you with one of my favorite quotes:
"In America, in the Pacific Northwest, there are a hundred optimistic ways to describe the expectation for dreary, wet weather. Rain, followed by showers. Overcast with a twenty percent chance of sunbreaks in the afternoon. Where others, accustomed to a more bountiful sun, see only a dismal day, Pacific Northwesterners can catch glimmer in the gloom."
